Geely’s Smart Charging System is supported by its 2.2-megawatt infrastructure and a high-rate battery system that can withstand the voltage. Also, the Lynk & Co 10 and Zeekr 001 scored 70% to 10% in a real-world test (4 minutes and 30 seconds). It can be charged from 10% to 97% in 8.4 minutes at ambient temperatures.
That’s genuinely fast. To put that into perspective, it takes a typical fast charger now 20-40 minutes to achieve about the same range.
How AI Supports Fast EV Charging
It’s not easy to charge a battery at that rate. It is not the speed of charge that poses a threat to health, but heat as a threat. To tackle exactly that risk, Geely has developed an Artificial Intelligence system known as Xingrui PowerMind.
What Comes Next for EV Charging Technology
Once a peak in speed, the battle will shift to how many high-capacity, reliable charging stations would be needed before those super-fast batteries become meaningful in day-to-day use. The future charging infrastructure, Zhang said, resembled a petrol station, with many stations, various brands and not one company tending them.
That transition benefits those firms that can afford to invest in land, grid capacity, maintenance and service, all without breaking the bank. The extensive investment in cloud monitoring and AI is a testament to Geely’s readiness for such a scenario.
