Digital Parking System: What’s Actually Launching?
Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab stated that the Digital Parking System pilot project is in its final stage of completion. It will go into operation in a few days in select KMC parking facilities. The system is based on transaction automation, without cash, with a printed receipt and an electronic receipt.
Most notably, this system is only in effect for the designated KMC parking lots and not for outside parking. Wahab clarified that the requirement for parking has been removed from all the roads of KMC, which are already parking-free. This rollout won’t reinstate regular street parking fees.
