GAC Launches 4 New EVs in Pakistan Today

Lucky Motor Corporation officially enters the EV market with AION and Hyptec brands. Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) is officially launching four electric vehicles from GAC ‘s EV lineup in Pakistan today. AION and Hyptec models will enter the local market during the event. The country’s electric car industry is growing fast.

The launch aims to do more than just put more EVs on the roads of Pakistan. It reflects the increasing consumers’ preference for official dealership support, warranty coverage, and after-sales service.

 The Four EVs Launching Today

These are the four models expected at the launch event:

The Hyptec HT should be the most popular. It’s renowned worldwide for its high-quality positioning and its advanced variants in certain international markets. Final details of the Pakistan-specific variant, however, will be released at the launch.

Some Pakistani buyers have already seen the AION V and AION UT at GUGO Motors.

Meanwhile, the AION ES and the Hyptec HT may come to Pakistan through LMC.

 Why This Launch Matters?

This is no ordinary Chinese EV debut. The key takeaway is official support.

Similarly, LMC already does business in Pakistan as part of Kia and Peugeot. It sells the Sportage, Picanto, Kia Carnival, and Peugeot 2008. That experience comes through to GAC’s electric vehicle lineup.

Warranty claims, service support, parts availability, and future help. That counts for EV buyers who have worried about “after buy” issues.

LMC and GAC’s official partnership was completed earlier this year. The partnership is limited only to GAC’s new energy car brands, AION and Hyptec, for the Pakistani market.

 GAC’s support for Pakistan

GAC is a Fortune Global 500 company. It has ranked Best in Class in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study in China. It has done so for the last eight years.

GAC handles the full vehicle lifecycle at every step, including raw material mining, vehicle assembly, and battery recycling.

GAC’s AION and Hyptec-branded products have ranked among the 10 best-selling new energy vehicle brands in China for the past 5 years.

The partnership will also strive to build the EV ecosystem in Pakistan by establishing commercial battery, setting up local battery and parts manufacturing. Some buyers have already seen these models locally. The quoted prices are PKR 6.99 million for AION UT. The quoted price for AION V is PKR 11.99 million.

What We Still Need to Know?

The launch event today is supposed to hopefully clarify a few key elements:

  • Official pricing in Pakistan for each model
  • Warranty terms and coverage specification (or warranty period)
  • Support for services and charging
  • Delivery timelines
  • Dealership network locations

These models have already been witnessed locally by some buyers, and PKR 6.99 million and PKR 11.99 million are quoted prices of AION UT and AION V, respectively. Those prices will be confirmed or adjusted at LMC’s official launch.

What does this mean for Pakistani Buyers?

This represents a positive step for buyers hoping for more EV options, supported by their dealer, though. LMC already has a proven network of servicing services, with Kia and Peugeot. That pre-existing setup means Pak GAC EVs are getting a head start over the new brands that are entering Pakistan without a local partner.

Now the big issue is with pricing and warranty. With those four EVs, GAC can be a serious competitor in Pakistan’s growing EV market if everything goes in its favor.
