Punjab driving license tracking is set to become easier with a new system being developed for license applicants. The facility will allow people to track their driving license card from processing and printing to dispatch and final delivery.
What’s Changing in Punjab Driving License Tracking?
The authorities in Punjab are now connecting the post office’s delivery network to the Driving License Information Management System (DLIMS) by the Traffic Police. At the moment, DLIMS tells you 1 thing: whether your card is being processed or printed. It doesn’t show anything after that.
After integration, Punjab driving license tracking will provide applicants with much more information. They will be able to check whether the card was handed over by the Traffic Police to the Post Office, view its delivery status, and even track its current location.
Why Was This Needed?
The gap was not only a frustrating experience for applicants, but it was also an annoyance. The officials said it was difficult for the traffic police to verify delivery information under the current system. Neither side had clear visibility once a card left the printing stage.
That is an operating issue, not a complaint. Being unable to track their own delivery data makes it hard for police to catch delays and fix them fast.
Who’s Handling the Integration?
Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has been contacted to do the required data integration. Much of the digital license infrastructure in Pakistan is already in place with PITB, and this expansion consolidates everything into one place.
Benefits of the New Punjab Driving License Tracking System
Once activated, the new Punjab driving license tracking system will work much like courier tracking. Applicants will no longer have to rely only on vague “processing” or “printed” updates and will be able to check the card’s dispatch and delivery progress.
The objective to improve monitoring efforts and ensure that cards reach people as promised. This system aims to identify issues before they become months-long delays, which has been a complaint for decades.

This isn’t an isolated fix. Since 2026, Punjab has been progressively moving toward digitization, with online applications for learner permits to instant issuing at e-service centers. As of yet, there is no official launch date. However, when things have been fully integrated, applicants should be able to get the kind of visibility that has been missing since DLIMS first became digital.
