Pakistan Car Sales Surge 29% in June 2026 | PAMA Data

Pakistan car sales increased by 28.9% month-on-month to 21,983 units in June 2026, according to data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA). The strong performance of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) reflects improving economic stability, controlled inflation, and growing consumer confidence across multiple vehicle segments.

The Suzuki Alto continued its run as the country’s best-selling car, with 7,239 units sold, a 21% improvement over May’s 5,964 units. This makes it the preferred option for people who are new buyers and also families with limited budgets.

The newly launched Suzuki Fronx crossover saw a month-on-month rise of 211% from 552 to 1,717 units sold in June. In comparison to other well-established models like the Suzuki Swift, the Fronx is one of the growing models in Pakistan’s recent automotive history. It indicates a definite crossover trend over traditional hatchback and sedan platforms among buyers.

The Suzuki line-up also did well. The Cultus recovered 72% from a muted May to return to 439 units, the Every commercial van rose 12% to 480 units, and the Swift remained unchanged at 1,668 units. 

Toyota Indus: Stable Across Segments

Indus Motor Company reported a steady volume in June with no significant swing. The total of Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla Cross sold a marginal 1% fewer total units at 2,650, which is more of a trend of consolidation in the mid-range sedan market in Pakistan than a sign of any demand weakness in Toyota’s segment.

The Fortuner and Hilux platforms, however, kept on the upward trend with a 6% rise to 857. Toyota’s high-end cars have held steady in a competitive market, proving that these names are still strong with business and fleet buyers.

Honda Atlas: June was a strong month all around

Honda Atlas had one of its best performances of the year in June. The City and Civic saw a 33% increase, reaching 2,594 units. 

The crossover line-up was also promising. The BR-V and HR-V tied for the third-largest gain with a 36% rise to 378 units. The jump in sales of high-grade SUVs has also helped to propel Honda into the urban SUV market, though not to the level of Haval.

Haval and Hyundai: The Emergence of New Market Forces

Sazgar Engineering’s Haval and Tank have been the most impactful story of the year for June 2026, as it continues to expand its range of products. The combined sales total of 2,720 is up 70% from May and ranks Haval/Tank third in volume for the month, ahead of Honda City and Civic. This is not a one-month event. The Haval brand is making steady progress and poses a serious threat to the established manufacturers for market share.

Hyundai Nishat also enjoyed a great month in many areas. The Tucson jumped 91% to 548 units. The Santa Fe more than doubled with a 133% increase, to 84 units. The growth of the Sonata was 65 units, or 65% up. Overall, Hyundai showed that when the product and price are competitive, premium and near-premium buyers are getting ready to consider alternatives to Toyota and Honda.

Commercial and EV Segment

The ISUZU D-MAX recorded an increase of 87% to 101 units as the light commercial vehicle market saw a recovery in Pakistan with the improvement of business activity and infrastructure investment.

Micro-EV experienced a drop with the Honri-Ve dropping 33% to 20 units. Despite the market’s potential, the budget range is limited by infrastructure issues, battery range, and a lack of an after-sales service network in Pakistan. Though low in absolute numbers, it is still a long way before the mass market for EVs becomes realistic in Pakistan’s passenger vehicle market.

JETOUR held onto 200 units and held its own in the growing competitive crossover space.

What Pakistan Car Sales Say About the Market

Here are three insights to take from this month’s data.

  • Suzuki still dominates the volume market, and this is unlikely to change for the foreseeable future. Alto’s 7,239 units are responsible for 33% of the overall market sales for the month.
  • While the Fronx’s 211% increase may be due to seasonal factors, the ongoing volume growth of Haval and Hyundai’s impressive. SUV sales suggest that buyers are shifting away from traditional sedans and hatchbacks towards crossover and SUV platforms.
  • Chinese brands have moved out of the niche. Other early adopters like Haval and JETOUR are competing for the mainstream volume. One of the big stories in fiscal year 2026-27 will be their ongoing expansion.

The 29% month-on-month rise in sales for June 2026 is a positive end to the fiscal year for the Pakistani automotive sector. The scope of the recovery is wide, from budget hatchback cars to high-end sedans to commercial vehicles and crossovers. The main factors to monitor are the effects of the new hybrid tax regime, the growth of the import market under the new auto policy, and whether the crossover segment continues to grow or if supply-side problems drive volumes back down.
