Pak Suzuki officially introduces the Suzuki Fronx today at 6:30 PM (6 May). The car was first seen at PAPS last year, but was only a forerunner. The number will make or break this launch tonight, as it will be given a price tag.
What is the Suzuki Fronx?
The Suzuki Fronx is a subcompact crossover with Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform. This is a more distinctive urban driver-oriented coupe and design, which is more striking than a normal sedan.
Most importantly, it is the first Pak Suzuki crossover of its kind to be mass-produced in this country for a number of years. The specs in this category are actually good. Besides, the local assembly will allow Pak Suzuki to sell it at a competitive price against the fully imported models. Still, among them, the Fronx has to compete against some of the more popular names.
If Pak Suzuki lowers the price of the Fronx significantly below the HR-V, Corolla Cross, and J5, it creates a large pool of buyers. There are many people who are driving a Yaris, City, or Alsvin right now who wish to upgrade to a crossover. A reasonably fee Fronx might certainly catch that need effortlessly.
But the argument quickly collapses when the price is too close to the larger, more popular SUVs. At that level of spending, these consumers already have options they recognize, and at that price, a new Suzuki crossover will find a difficult road ahead.
